Through it all, though, we haven’t heard any substantial updates about The Elder Scrolls 6 since it was announced four years ago. Here are the biggest previously confirmed titles that were missing in action during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase. Given that the presentation focused on games that are coming out in the next 12 months…well, that might tell you a little something about what your expectations for those missing titles should be. Unfortunately, quite a few of those games were missing from Xbox and Bethesda’s otherwise massive presentation. Countless studios closely affiliated with the Xbox are busy working on major games. However, those games only make up a small sampling of the titles coming to Microsoft’s supported hardware. For instance, few can really say they hated learning that the Persona franchise was finally coming to Xbox or that Hideo Kojima was creating an Xbox-exclusive title. Others, however, were pleasant surprises. Some of the info shared during the show was as welcome as it was expected (such as new trailers for Redfall, Starfield, and Forza Motorsport). Yet there were still some notable titles missing from the event. The point is, there are enough options out there and even die hard PS5 gamers likely have more than their console as a gaming option. The 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase was easily the longest digital showcase of the year so far, and it contained a healthy mix of updates on previously announced titles and world premieres. If you’ve got a decent computer, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on PC might be your ticket to playing The Elder Scrolls VI. But being an “Xbox exclusive” doesn’t mean you’ll need an Xbox Series X|S to play it. The Elder Scrolls VI almost certainly won’t release on PlayStation 5. In all likelihood, any chance for “everybody to have the ability to play” The Elder Scrolls VI will likely come in the form of Xbox Game Pass and xCloud, Microsoft’s cloud gaming service that allows you to play Xbox games across a plethora of devices such as PC and Android mobile phone or tablet. There’s a reason they paid upwards of $7 billion for the studio. It sounds like Howard was about to say they are still discussing the possibility of a multiplatform release but let’s be honest, Microsoft would be insane to let The Elder Scrolls VI release on any sort of competitor’s platform.
